D.R. Shanmukhappa Charitable Trust, in association with Rotary Bengaluru Ullal, Upkar Residents Welfare Association (URWA), and Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi, successfully organized a Cancer Awareness & Free Health Check-up Camp on 5 March 2026 as part of its ongoing health awareness initiatives across BBMP areas. The program aimed to promote cancer awareness, encourage early detection, and make preventive healthcare services more accessible to the community.
The Cancer Awareness Talk was delivered by Dr. Bharath G., Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi, who educated participants on cancer prevention, the importance of early diagnosis, recognizing warning signs, and adopting healthy lifestyle practices. The session also focused on addressing common misconceptions about cancer, encouraging regular health check-ups, and empowering individuals with the knowledge to take proactive steps towards their health and well-being.
Alongside the awareness session, the Trust conducted a Free Health Check-up Camp, offering a range of essential health screenings and expert consultations. Participants benefited from Blood Pressure (BP), Random Blood Sugar (RBS), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Eye Screening, Dental Screening, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Gynecologist Consultation, and General Physician Consultation. These services enabled attendees to assess their overall health while reinforcing the importance of preventive care and timely medical intervention.
Through this collaborative initiative, D.R. Shanmukhappa Charitable Trust continues its commitment to serving communities across BBMP areas by spreading awareness about life-threatening diseases, promoting preventive healthcare, and ensuring access to quality medical services.
